The amnesty reception center for illegal residence in the areas of Farwaniya and Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh witnessed a large number of undocumented Indian expats on the first day, for those wishing to benefit from the deadline granted by the Ministry of Interior to leave without paying any fines, free air ticket and with the possibility of returning again legally.

On the first day more than 1500 men and 300 women registered to amend their status through the issuance of travel documents.

The commander of the Evacuation and Accommodation Force in the Ministry of Interior, Major General Abdin Abdin, said,

“About 1,800 violators have registered on the first day of the reception of the Indian community, according to the plan that was prepared by the Ministry of Interior regarding allowing the violators of the residence law to leave Kuwait and exempting them from all fees they have As well as free travel through Kuwait Airways.

He further stated that the Indian community was finished receiving on the first day, completing all their procedures and transporting them by bus to the shelter site.

As for the remaining numbers that we currently have from violators on the first day, they do not have a database at all, and we are working to extract records for them and coordinate with the Embassy of India to issue travel documents and create a database for us in the Ministry of Interior .
