Up to 23,500 undocumented expatriates in Kuwait have registered for the amnesty campaign launched by the government throughout April, local daily Arab Times have reported.

The Ministry of Interior said 2,500 of the undocumented expats have already been scheduled for their flights to their home countries, while the rest were still waiting for final departure arrangements.
Meanwhile, talks of restricting the flow of migrant workers in Kuwait have intensified during the coronavirus pandemic that has disrupted the economy.
One of the options before the country’s Public Authority for Manpower was the suspension of the issuance of work permits for migrant workers until the end of the year, Arab Times reported.
