16 | the publication reaches you by | Kuwait OnlineDays after President Trump declared a national emergency over coronavirus, Netflix, Apple TV and other production studios have decided to halt production of some shows.
Netflix made the decision to suspend all of its scripted TV shows and films currently being prepped in both the US and Canada, including Stranger Things, which was at pre-production stages when the decision was made.
Other projects affected by the decision is the comedy series Grace and Frankie and The Prom.
Warner Bros. has also issued a two-week standstill of production of The Batman, as well as postponed Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley film to October 2021, after Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson tested positive for the COVID-19 last week.
The James Bond film No Time to Die is also postponed to later this year in November.
Other studios like Disney, ABC Network, CBS and even TV shows with live audiences are taking these precautions. In a statement from Disney, they revealed that “while there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on our productions, after considering the current environment and the best interests of our cast and crew, we have made the decision to pause production on some of our live-action films for a short time.”
But despite all the sad news, don’t feel too heart-broken just yet! Now’s the best time to catch up on all those shows you kept putting off.
And if you’ve exhausted that list completely, try launching yourself into movie marathons of all those oldies but goldies! Find some great ways to nostalgically kill time until things come back into full swing again.
