An Indian dentist has died from COVID-19 in Kuwait, becoming the country’s second medical fatality due to the disease, Kuwaiti newspaper Al Qabas reported.


Dr. Vasudeva Rao, 54, has died due to complications of the virus infection.

A resident of Kuwait for about 15 years, Dr. Rao worked as an endodontist, the paper said.

The Kuwaiti Dentists’ Society mourned his death.

On Friday, Egyptian ENT specialist Dr. Tareq Hussain Mokheimer died of COVID-19, becoming Kuwait’s first such medical fatality.

Dr. Mokheimer, 62, had worked in Kuwait for more than 20 years.
