Indonesia beat Kuwait in Ice Hockey U20 Challenge

Kuwaiti ice hockey team lost their first match versus Indonesia 10-3 Monday at IIHF Ice Hockey U20 Challenge Cup of Asia held in Malaysia.

Speaking to KUNA following the game, team director Ahmad Al-Ajmi expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance especially as the team have a promising future ahead, pointing out that the player Ahmad Al-Sayegh won the player-of-the match award.

The result is convincing and looks normal due to players’ age that did not exceed 17 year-old, said Al-Ajmi, as he expected best performance in the upcoming Asia Cup and beyond.

There is hope for the second round in this tournament, noting that the team will face Mongolia tomorrow and Thailand next Thursday the strongest teams in the group, he said.

Kuala Lumpur is hosting the five-day IIHF Ice Hockey U20 Challenge Cup of Asia, where Kuwait are participating in Group A of Thailand, Mongolia and Indonesia while Group B includes Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan, the Philippines and the UAE.
