Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah has sent a message to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz tackling several issues including a bitter Gulf crisis and regional challenges, Al qabas quoted government sources today.

The written message was handed over by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Ahmed Al Nasser to his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan in Riyadh, the Saudi news agency SPA reported.

The message includes consultation and coordination at all levels and in all fields, including the Gulf disagreement and security as well as economic challenges facing the region,” the sources told Al Qabas.

“Coordination with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is essential and pivotal in the region,” they added without further details.

Links broken

In June 2017, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt broke off diplomatic and transportation links with Qatar over its support for extremist groups.

Kuwait has since launched efforts to resolve the dispute without success so far.

Earlier this month, Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sabah Al Khaled has pledged that his country will continue its efforts to end the row between Qatar and its Gulf neighbours.

The quartet has set several conditions to mend ties with Qatar, including the emirate’s severance of links with militant and terror groups.

Doha has refused the conditions, saying they violate its sovereignty.

The Arab quartet has accused Qatar of lacking seriousness in resolving the crisis.
