Kuwait Telecommunication Company STC announced on Tuesday that it has successfully implemented a data link between the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health (MOH) and a local hospital to obtain coronavirus medical data.

The data link was built between MOH data center and the Kuwati International Hospital, said Mishari Al Hamad, general manager of Sales and Account Management at STC, in a statement.

The purpose of establishing the link was to provide a seamless connection between hospital and MOH at high data transmission speed to obtain updated medical data related to the coronavirus, he noted.

It is a free service provided by STC with an aim to support local entities in the battle against the current coronavirus pandemic, he said.

STC will continue to collaborate with local authorities and governmental entities to organize campaigns to contain the coronavirus outbreak and ensure the health and safety of the people in Kuwait, he added.

Kuwait on Tuesday reported 152 new cases of COVID-19 and one more death, bringing the total infections to 3,440 and death toll to 23, the MOH said.
