A Kuwait National Assembly member fueled another controversy by calling for fees on expatriate beach-goers in the country.
“Expatriates have left a horrible quantity of garbage on beaches and public parks during the Eid holidays which makes the fees necessary”, said MP Safa Al-Hashem.

According to a report in Al Rai, She urged the authorities to act fast and tackle the dysfunctional demographic imbalance, warning that “the worst has yet to come”.
“The total number of expatriates stands at 3 million, compared with just 1 million Kuwaiti nationals”, she claimed, calling upon the Government to deport what she called “marginal expatriates” and combat free visa merchants.
She called on the authorities to impose another tax on expatriates using the newly-opened Shaikh Jaber Causeway, warning that its “infrastructure would be damaged”.
