Several other policemen were injured in the attack on the security point.
The driver, a Kuwaiti national identified as Abdul Aziz Al Shamlan, was arrested and he is still being questioned over the killing and his links with Daesh.
“I am proud of my son and of his dedication and commitment,” Mohammad Al Enezi, the victim’s father, said.
“He had been working as a policeman in Kuwait for seven years and he died from the injuries he suffered during the attack. His mother is a Kuwaiti national and he is married and has three children. He drove daily to work from their home at the Saudi-Kuwaiti border,” the father said, quoted by Saudi daily Okaz.
