Six flights touched down at Kuwait International Airport on Saturday carrying Kuwaiti nationals, from Iran and Thailand.
The passengers had been evacuated from Tehran and Bangkok where the coronavirus continues to spread. To date, there have been 593 confirmed cases in Iran, where 43 people have died, and 42 cases in Thailand.

Upon arrival at Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Terminal, evacuees underwent preliminary medical tests, said Assistant Undersecretary of the Health Ministry Dr. Buthaina Al-Mudhaf.
“The arrivals from Tehran have to remain in quarantine while those from Thailand will be under observation at home,” she told Kuwait state news agency (KUNA). “The persons who suffer from chronic illnesses, such as the heart disease, were admitted into a specific hospital to verify their health condition.”
Dr. Al-Mudhaf said there were no new COVID-19 cases detected in the state on Saturday, while the previously confirmed 45 patients are in a stable condition.
