Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has referred some senior officials to prosecution on allegations of corruption, taking undue advantage of their positions to serve personal interests, and mismanaging several contracts worth over KD 200 million, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The daily quoting a source added a series of variation orders may have been witnessed in the maintenance contracts but the officials in question did not impose fines on the contractors and took for granted the need to achieve demands of the company and operation of gas sector.

He reiterated all those suspicions have yet to be established, indicating investigation is still underway to gather more information. He revealed the officials had mounted pressure to play down on the issue by restricting the action to internal punishment and reshuffling rather than referring the case to the Public Prosecution Department when information was first received about the suspicious activities.
