Turkish Airlines on Monday announced plans to improve connections with Kuwait as part of plans to increase its tourism focused international flights.

The airline said it will launch direct flights from Kuwait to Bodrum-Milas Airport, which serves the towns of Bodrum and Milas, and Izmir as it aims to expand its reach in the Middle East.

The Turkish flag carrier said it will be operating 98 flights every week from 26 international destinations to Turkey’s favourite tourism spots such as Antalya, Izmir, Dalaman and Bodum during summer 2020.

The weekly frequency of direct flights from international destinations to Turkey’s tourism centres will be increased by 18 percent this year compared to 2019, it added.

Turkish Airlines chairman M Ilker Ayci said: “Here at the meeting point of Europe and Asia, we possess a land that offers unforgettable memories with its unparalleled beauty.

“The demand for these flights has been steadily increasing over the course of last two years… We are committed to continue and increase our contributions to our country’s tourism sector and its economy. We believe that our new flights will be carrying new tourists and new records on their wings as well.”

As well as Kuwait, Turkish Airlines will increase connections from Moscow, London, Amman, Kiev, Munich, Berlin, Dusseldorf and Hamburg to its tourism destinations.
